The frequency of lingual nerve lesion during the avulsion of wisdom teeth is often underestimated. It induces sensitive, sensory, periodontal an masticatory sequellae. From a medicolegal point of view, an increasing number of practitioners are being sentenced for such sensory sequellae and compensation is nearly systematically awarded.
