Odontogenic myxoma is a rare, benign, locally invasive tumour. It arises from the mesenchymal portion of the odontogenic apparatus and is almost exclusively seen in tooth-bearing areas. The lesion is often painless and slow growing. Clinical and radiographic features are not diagnostically characteristic and overlap with those of other benign and malignant neoplasms rendering the differential diagnosis difficult. This neoplasm can invade adjacent tissues and recurs after surgical resection. Therefore, en bloc resection and regular follow up are required. In this article, an odontogenic myxoma of the mandibule occurring in a 24 year-old Moroccan woman treated by enucleation is presented. The origin, clinical manifestations and treatment options are discussed and the relevant literature reviewed.
