INTRODUCTION

Median rhomboid glossitis is a benign lesion of the tongue, described for the first time by Brocq in 1914. The prevalence is low, 0.01% to 1.0% in the general population (Goregen et al., 2011; Ghabanchi et al., 2011). It affects adults, particularly men with diabetes melitus, smokers and immunosuppressed subjects. Children are rarely affected by this pathology (Delemarre and Van der Waal, 1973).
