Coronal fractures of the anterior teeth are a common trauma and a frequent motive for emergency consultation. Treatment must be fast and methodical in order to protect, when it's possible, the pulp vitality but also repair the aesthetic damage caused by the loss of substance.
There have been tremendous advances in the restoration of the anterior teeth thanks to the progress of adhesive dentistry, particularly with the global improvement of the mechanical and aesthetic properties of composite materials and adhesive systems. This procedure is part of the modern concept of minimally invasive dentistry, favoring tissue conservation and
the bio imitation of the restorations.
This article aims at presenting on one hand, the various types of coronal fractures of permanent teeth, from the simple crack to the complicated fracture, and on the other hand, the therapeutic possibilities for the restoring of the aesthetics and the restoration mimicry of broken teeth.
