This synthetic study demonstrate the advantages, when operating complex restorations with composite resins on teeth with vital pulp, of using a new design of dentinal pins : easier realisation, composite/pin chemical liaison, amelodentinal adhesion of the restoration material, reduced risk of cuspid fracture, absence of corrosion or periodontal problems. A few obstacles remain : leakage at the bottom of the pin insertion hole ; at medium term, the volume retraction and the physical an mechanical properties of the composite resins are not quite satisfactory.
