Management of the emergence profile in implantology - ROS - 2011 - Tome 40 - N°2

To optimally respond to the esthetic criteria of the implant-supported restoration, all the contributing parameters must be taken into account. Among these, the emergence profile of the prosthetic crown influences not only the acquisition but also the long-term maintenance of the surrounding muco-gingival morphology. Provisional crowns can be dynamically used to improve this gingival profile.
In this article, the use of a provisional crown to prepare peri-implant soft issue is described step-by-step to obtain the esthetic result of the future prosthetic construction.
