In removable complete denture, patient satisfaction is a useful indicator to assess the treatment success. An evaluation of patient satisfaction is in association with the concept of oral health-related quality of life.
This tool is measured by questionnaires whose methodological validation requires specific survey and statistical analysis techniques.
Studies have shown a weak correlation between the quality of denture assessed by the practitioner and patient satisfaction and a weak correlation between anatomical conditions and patient satisfaction (Berg 1993; Veyrune et al., 2005).
The objective of this article is to emphasize the interest and limitations of this indicator of treatment outcome used to evaluate different treatment types with removable dentures.
