The practitioner must control and ensure hygiene and asepsis in his daily practice, both for ethical reasons and as a legal obligation. Rethinking the dental surgery layout allows the achievement of rigorous hygiene and asepsis. Many asepsis errors can be avoided by organising the circulation of patients and medical devices ; this should be systematised. Control and maintenance of environmental infectious risks are indispensable and can be rationalised by a classification of the various areas of the surgery, "biocleaning" is rationalised. A few practical tips allow the dental surgeon to improve his/her environment, be it concerning the furniture or the floors, the walls and the ceilings.
