This paper describes the case of a 50-year-old patient addressed to the department concerning a persistent fluctuant, circumscribed buccal swelling in the lower left canine/premolar region (33-35). The swelling appeared following the extraction of the lower left second premolar two months previously. The medical history revealed multiple pathologies, marked fatigue and the absence of clinical improvement in spite of a prolonged course of oral antibiotics. We pursued investigations with a radiological survey, comprising an OPT (Panoramic X-ray) and CT Scan. A bacteriological sample was taken but lacked significant results. A biopsy for histo-pathological analysis was taken under general anesthesia and the diagnosis of plexiform unicystic ameloblastoma was confirmed. This pathological condition requires a general health examination in order to eliminate metastatic projections and a follow-up by a dental professional. Effectively, this pathology is typically aggressive and recurrence is frequent.
