The use of CT scan in dentistry is not limited to pre-implant assessments. After a technical reminder on how to examine and use the CT scan, we then describe the main indications for oral surgery, endodontics, periodontology, trauma cases and tumour pathologies. The scanner appears to be a very good technique to precisely evaluate defects as, from time to time, their assessment seems insufficient with standard radiological techniques such as a dental panoramic and retro-alveolar x-rays.
