Technical procedures are in constant evolution. During the past 15 years, endodontnic instrumentation has highly evolved, with always the same objective, meaning facilitating clinical process without compromise the final objectives. Root canal obturation is the latest step of the root treatment, and appears to be the most difficult and time consuming step to achieve. New biomaterials of the bioceramics family, allow us to reconsider this phase of treatment, and maybe to get it simplified without compromising the final goals. The flowable material is not only considered as a sealer only, but must be seen as an adhesive filling material. The gutta percha point is used as a carrier and help for any needed retreatment.
The aim of this manuscript is to explain the rationale behind this paradigm shift and to describe the new obturation technique based on a single cone use.
