Giant cell reparative granuloma of the maxilla: a case report
Giant cell reparative granuloma or Central giant cell granuloma is a benign tumor of the jaws, of unknown etiology. Considering its location and clinical presentation, this painless tumor can resemble an odontogenic cellulitis.
Radiologically, the lesion is distinguished as a severe bone destruction.Nevertheless, a diagnostic confirmation can be obtained only from histological results. The case presented in this article is a 29-year-old female patient without previous medico-surgical history, and whose lesion was found by chance during a dental appointment with the treating dentist. The treatment consisted of curettage and surgical excision.
