Von Recklinghausen´s disease or standard Neurofibromatosis I is a hereditary disease that is characterized by cutaneous café au lait spots and neurofibromas. Oral manifestations (70 to 90 %) are frequent. However its localization on an edentulous crest is rare. We have reported a case of Von-Recklinghausen´s disease with a tumor on the vestibular aspect of an edentulous region of the maxilla hindering the fabrication of a dental prosthesis. The patient´s treatment consisted of excising the tumor followed by the tumor´s biopsy. The histological examination revealed a gingival neurofibroma.
